More than 24,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in Australia every year or 1 in 6 in their lifetime, making it the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men.

Together, Since 2015, we’ve raised more than $751,00 for prostate cancer research through PCFA.

2015-2017

At our first lunch in 2015, which was held at the Collingwood Town Hall, we raised $28,000 to support research programs through PCFA.

In 2015 we moved to Meat Market in North Melbourne and doubled our contribution to research funding new research to the tune of $68,000.

In 2017 proceeds of approx. $116k were directed to PCFAs nuclear medicine clinical trial conducted through the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre.

2018

In 2018 funds of $168,946 were directed under the PCFA “Young Investigator” program to support Dr Roxanne Toivanen. This grant was for $150k over an 18 month period, through to mid 2019.

2019

In 2019 funds of $174,118 were applied to Assoc Professor Renea Taylor, under her successful grant of “Finding new genetic risk factors for prostate cancer”. This grant is for a period of 3 years, with total funding of approx. $490k, and will be funded by future events.
